- Located beneath a volcano named Pinchincha, this city is the capital of Ecuador the South American country.
- After being invaded by Incas in 1428, Atahualpa became the emperor.
- Atahualpa offered Pizzaro the Spanish invader a ransom of gold and silver. This treasure, collected but not delivered to Pizzaro is still not found.
